For a Paladin, Dominate Person verbal command = Kill that target = attack and smite?

Seems reasonable to me.

Iirc dominate is only basic attacks.

Could be wrong. Think I dominated someone once but wasn't that great.

Simple action only. Attack action or attack that person. (5.0 or 5.5)

Not sure that applies to smites. No spellcasting though

That's not how we read 2014 dominate. Though the examples it gives leads one to believe that it must be an explicit action the creature has. Kill Target X would seem to be a valid dominate command just by the rules text.

Yeah its ambiguous. Smite could work I suppose as its part of attack action.

5.5 has changed it to attack that creature leaving it open ended as to how.

RAW not sure. RAI not sure ymmv. 5.5 may enable spellcasting.
