D&D General If Nentir Vale were in the Forgotten Realms, where would they be?

There is some wiggle room, but this thread addresses a number of the issues.

Well, the Nentir Vale should be on the American continent, as the Nentir Vale is based on Renton (Washington), that's where Wizard of the Coast headquarters are located.

I think Matrix Sorcica already posted my handmade map of where I would locate the Nentir Vale in my Realms, 😉

I chose the Neverwinter area because that's where my 4e Realms campaign was set. I even wrote some adaptational lore, if the OP is still interested. You can read it at Candlekeep.

That's a pretty good bet, then, that that's where Perkins et al meant for it to be then.

IIRC, the intended area for the Nentir Vale may have been the region around the town of Loudwater, as that was the starting area of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, and, at the time, people mentioned how similar this town was to Fallcrest. I believe (and this is my personal guest) that Fallcrest may be a generic adaptation of Loudwater.

And we don't know how much of the Nentir Vale was created before they decided it was to be its own thing instead of part of the Realms. Besides the fact that the area was inspired by a modified copy of the map of Renton.
