Here is a picture that Bing Image creator and I generated, regarding my version of Modrons.

"d&d fantasy, square cube made of brass metal, forces fields, with a glowing blue eye and three mechanical tentacles"

Kinda made me wonder, and inspire the thought... "Beholders hate each other and they way the others look, and are extremely xenophobic"

LOL, what if its because they are corrupted modrons, who only see the "perfection and order" within themselves, having become chaotic and individualistic.

Farfetched idea, not canon, but certainly amusing.

Here a few other iterations.

That's the dude from the Watchmen, right? I think that you should keep the weirdness factor, though they do get more humanoid as they move up the hierarchy so maybe that's perfect for Primus.
Yeah its "Doctor Manhattan"

And I figured it was a good fit for Primus, cause of the gradual humanoidization of the modrons. And blue.

I think you should try modrons of other shapes too - certainly the "all-seeing pyramid" seems likes it'd be a good fit, as would an octrahedron and certainly our 12-sided (die) friends.

Also, I think that's a great thought on beholders - Modrons perhaps tainted by the Realm of Madness or imperfect mockeries of Modron "perfect" forms.
