D&D 5E (2024) 1501DR Legacy Of Netheril and Purple Dragon Knights: Kingmaker

So new campaign is in brainstorming mode.
The very basic idea is Cormyr sponsoring the PCs to secure the Stonelands. The villains are Shar/Shades maybe the Phaerimm. Aumvor, Larloch, Ioulaum, the Terraseer and Karsus can also be involved.

Grand tour of Anauroch perhaps. Dead magic zones, wild magic and I'm using the Shadow Weave. Deity drama its the Netherese Pantheon vs Dead 3 from last game.

Theres even a Netherese enclave crashed there. Theres also one more left post Shade crashing into Myth Drannor.

I've been digging through old PDFs. Dead tree products and going back as far as 1Es Savage Frontier digging up Netherese tidbits. Hell went through the FR wiki as well and dead tree Lost Empires of Faerun, Netheril boxed set. Doing my homework.

Theres surprisingly not much available for in depth stuff. Going to buy some more PDFs my players has agreed on a slush fund. I want to print poster sized maps for this one.

BG3 think Act 1 and 2. Goblins. Hit level 5 Cormyr pays for bastions. I've got some ideas for mass combat. BG3 act 2 is inspiration for things the Shades are getting up to around the Shaol of Thirst.

Might be my best campaign yet with my favorite group. 30 years in the making sort of (1996 Faith and Avatars Karsus, Karsus Avatar Spell, Amaunator). Conclusion rough idea is PCs lead their forces and some Purple Dragon Knights vs the remaining Shades and summoning the last Netherese city while the last surviving lost in time Netherese also make an appearance. Surviving Netherese Archwizards are the chess masters vs antagonists.

Any ideas? Netheril reborn and killing off the dead 3 and denmoting Kelemvor are on the table.

Missed it back in the day. No PC.

How's it aged?
It looks ugly, but the NWN engine has been kept up to date by dedicated fans, so it's playable.

There is more in it than is mentioned in the plot description on the wiki. Karsus and shades are in it. Not canon, but still something you might find inspiration in.
