Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

I'm not sure what your argument here is. Are you saying there should not be a setting built around the mechanics as presented in the core rules, or that there could not be?
A setting is just a place where the game happens. It's not created to represent any specific set of rules. I can pull out a 1e setting and run 5e in it with zero changes or vice versa. Sometimes a setting has some setting unique mechanics, but those are not edition mechanics.

The art of 4e had got a lot of Warcraft vibes. When I watched those characters I felt like a preteen with action figures in my hands.

If Hasbro wanted to sell action figures of D&D Nentir Vale should be the setting for those characters. Maybe it should be unlocked in DMGuild.

A setting can't be a group of names for places. It needs its own identity, and enough potential to have enough brand power as subfranchise. And it has to be original because there are too many other settings created by 3PPs.

My idea is something to make players to feel within some D&D version of creepypasta fiction, style new weird fiction.
