Monster Manual 2Too much to hope the lion people are leonals (Talisid is about as close to Aslan as D&D is likely to get). I figure the Yugoloths are due an AP as the big bad, and Guardianals must be the natural enemy of Yugoloths (and both are likely a lot more subtle than their lawful or chaotic counterparts), so maybe some kind of espionage. I always try to work "is that a centaur? It is half horse and half man, but I thought it was the other way around" whenever I use an equinal outside of the upper planes.
Yeah, maybe they're thinking they want to make their big money in the holiday season. They've put out slipcase sets specifically for the holidays in the past.I could be wrong, but I feel like they don't usually (other than the 2024 MM, of course, but that was later than they originally intended) put anything out until March or April anyhow. I think that they quite often DO skip Q1. And (as we have seen this year) they over-stuff Q3 & Q4, but again, this year's quick succession was not on purpose (when it comes to Eberron's release).
Given how well having the BG3 actors doing live plays seems to have worked out for them, I would bet on a live-play event previewing some of the content with Aabria Iyengar (who seems to never sleep) or someone comparable running the game.Since they missed their announcement window in 2025, when in 2026 could they announce their lineup, or are we at this point expecting some individual notification around 2 months in advance?
I was thinking of conventions or similar events they would do this at, but I guess they can always do this standalone tooIf they were going to release something in March or April, that would mean we'd see the event in late January or so, once people are back out of vacation mode.
Are there any big gaming conventions in the winter or early spring?I was thinking of conventions or similar events they would do this at, but I guess they can always do this standalone too

Must not be a January release!Other than the Game Awards, most video companies have eschewed big events to release info and instead to their own reveals quarterly or so. I can see WotC deciding to have a Direct in January or February for the first half of the year slate.
It feels weird that we don't know anything definitive about 2026 yet, but I honestly don't know if that it abnormal, of if the full slate reveal was an anomaly.
They COULD shadow drop something, but only as a digital product.Must not be a January release!
