So I was able to get into one shadowdark game. Google suggests I will like it but not sure what best way to buy it is…or if it might be for sale there. Is it kickstarter only?

Looks like maybe direct from publisher…may hold off until first play but God…quick rules would be fine soMetes…

Apparently my brother kickstarted some
Package deal but does not have it yet.

It looks quick enough that if I get it could maybe play a pick up game between events?

I love 2014 D&D, but at times want a little more risk.

Read the QuickStart.

Really what I am seeing. Want to see monster lists or higher level spells but it is complete rules for adjudication without a lot of noise.

I imagine this runs fast
After you play a few times.

You can purchase via the Arcane Library but the purchase experience bites.

You do not have an account so the links to your PDFs expire after a few uses. I would avoid buying PDFs from them like the plague.

This leaves you getting the paperback sized physical book from them and being forced to pay higher prices to get the pdf from drivethrurpg.

If you back them, then you get pdf links via drivethrurpg.

The product is great but the customer portion if you did not back is terrible.

I would not buy again from Arcane Library because of that experience. Who wants to keep track of limited use links in 2026!?

Wait....what? Seriously? You want a forever link that requires no authentication? So, like, somebody puts their link on Reddit and suddenly the entire world can download their work for free?

So not only do you want a digital product instead of paper, but you want the company you bought it from to be responsible if you lose the file?
