Thing is, Cthulu is public domain and won't offend any real world religions.
There are still odd follows in the Occult community that believe Cthulu & the Necromaticon iis real despite Lovecrafts protestations otherwise.

sure, but larger book does not equal large bestiary. VGR was a full book and had around 30 monstersThe price indicates that it is larger, for sure.
I too hope it's complementary, but there's also parts of me that hope it also returns some of the domains back to their original configuration (namely, Adam's realm of Lamordia and pre-Death/Necropolis Darkon). Having Cthulhu gives me hope, but reprinting the races from Van Richten's makes me a bit underwhelmed.I suspect this is going to be complementary, not a replacement, since so much of Van Richten's is effectively system neutral.
I'll believe that...but I doubt WotC will be overly concerned with that. There are still odd follows in the Occult community that believe Cthulu & the Necromaticon iis real despite Lovecrafts protestations otherwise.
Second the Gryphon Hill adventure. I was really hoping that was what we were gonna get but that was probably a stretch. Maybe someday!I too hope it's complementary, but there's also parts of me that hope it also returns some of the domains back to their original configuration (namely, Adam's realm of Lamordia and pre-Death/Necropolis Darkon). Still hoping for the day they try and attempt a solid revision of House on Griffon Hill.
Yeah, but I doubt there is going to be any other venue for Cthulu forthcoming.sure, but larger book does not equal large bestiary. VGR was a full book and had around 30 monsters
I legit don't think we'll get any of the changes undone, through we might get some additional info pulled from older sources. But we are not getting a book that contradicts VRGR.I too hope it's complementary, but there's also parts of me that hope it also returns some of the domains back to their original configuration (namely, Adam's realm of Lamordia and pre-Death/Necropolis Darkon).
