I don’t know that one.I'm watching Penny Dreadful for the first time. I hope the rest of the series is as good as the first two episodes. If so, I'm disappointed that there are only 27 episodes.
It was on Showtime about a decade ago.I don’t know that one.

I have a question for you.Yes.
REALLY DAMN GOOD.
I have all three seasons on dvd. It's on my list of series I rewatch in rotation. I've probably rewatched it four times so far, and I still love the hell out of it...
In fact, I'm going to start rewatching it again soon since you brought it up.
It intertwines a lot of the popular horror characters of the Victorian era into an interesting new story - I won't go into who shows up since Aeson hasn't watched it yet, but the waters run deep. And all of them are interesting and different takes on the characters than what you've seen before.
As I said, the list of characters is long and so is the talent. Timothy Dalton. Eva Green. Josh Hartnett. In later seasons, Patti Lupone and Wes Studi. Even Brian Cox makes a brief appearance later on. And If you know anything about UK theatre and cinema, you'll recognize at least a dozen other actors.
If you like classic Victorian horror, Penny Dreadful is something you need to see.
