This last Sunday I'm making a beef stew, leave my phone upstairs as I went downstairs to stir it. Hour and a half later I see an old friend called me, no text, no voice mail. My first thought was either someone died, they want a bag of weed or need someone else's phone number. He got back to me yesterday, came by and I showed him my guitar room. Out of everything else he pulls an Epiphone Les Paul off the wall. We go back downstairs, smoke some pot and he tunes it for 30 minutes and plays it for 10. Anyhow, he called me because his 17 y/o son started playing D&D and was asking if I had anything I was willing to part with. I loaded up a care package (which he almost forgot) and he said, my kids gonna love you. Amongst others I gave him the Sword of Dales trilogy of modules, the Shadowdale book from the 2E FR boxed set and some other 5E books, a set of dice and some maps I scanned and printed when I worked at API. My point being A) D&D is fun. I asked him, can I play? he said my kid won't even let me play...bummer. 2) Choose your friends well and stay in touch, life is long. 3) It was really great to see him. 4) D&D is fun!! 5) Sometimes things need a second life, let them go so someone else can enjoy them...D&D is fun...
