Ao is above the gods.

One PC worships Jergal. I dont think his spirit ever got judged.
Ao would be even less likely, being only concerned with the lower gods doing their jobs right. As for his spirit being judged, that's not stated as far as I can remember. It would be your call on whether it happened or not.

Karsite weave was mentioned in BG3.
Its that or heavy magic allowing much the same thing.
That's still homebrew unless WotC brings it into their books.
Raw magic is also a thing. Weave and shadow weave are the UI.
Sure, but no one(except perhaps a god) can interface with it outside of one of the two weaves. Unless of course you create a karsite weave as a third weave for your game.

I brainstorming some ways around Mystras ban.

1. Karsite weave or heavy magic.

2. Ancient netherese artifacts predating the ban.

3. Shadow weave.

4. Mystras only been back 15 years. Maybe she's to weak.

5. Time travel/manipulation.

I really like the idea of using the Karsite Weave, mostly because it's a new concept and worth exploring. What could be interesting, is who is answering the Divination. The answer must be truthful, but if Mystra is the one answering, you might be able to get away with "it's true, from a certain point of view."

Well obviously there's someone named Karsus walking around.
Yeah, depending on the nature of the deity, you might get the answer back "there are exactly 2973 beings named Karsus currently alive on this plane of existence".

The spell is worded in such a way so as the DM can be as helpful or unhelpful as they like. The answer can't be a lie, but the question is open to interpretation.

"I don't know" is also a valid answer, although one doubts many gods would word it that way. They are more likely to obfuscate to conceal ignorance.

I'm thinking heavy magic might be liquid karsite weave.

Source Karse.

Karsus by official lore is quite dead. He died his body turned to stone and shattered and his soul became a vestige invisibly roaming the material plane with no power except when called on.

His weave he briefly was said to have created in BG III was small, incomplete and bound to a single artifact later.
