sounds right to me..

Do you want to "cash in" the rings for a group potion of healing? Not that it is really needed with all the clerics, lol.

I forgot all about the other reason I sent Terry to the bathhouse. I wanted her to hire a maidservant. Terry is a spoiled princess so she's use to having someone around to wash her clothes, change her bed, and all that. She would have asked the women at the bath to recommend a girl for light maid services, light since she knows she'll occasionally be out of town for days at a time.

Terry intends to pay 5 cp per day as a retainer for when Terry is out of town. Each morning, the servant is expected to find out if Terry is in town. If she is, pay is 3 sp for that day of chores (as above, washing clothes, bed sheets, cleaning the room she's renting, running the occasional errand). If Terry isn't around, the servant is free to do as she pleases that day. So while Terry is in town, the girl will be making above the listed price for an untrained hireling in the PHB (and slightly above the "poor" per diem for lifestyle).

So, EB, want to give her a name and family or should I just make something up? I'm assuming one of the bathhouse women recommended someone and told Terry her name. Terry said to send the girl around at dawn. So I'll write a scene of Terry hiring the girl (I say girl but she could be between 12 and 20+ I suppose, up to you.) Terry is sure to point out this will only last as long as she's in town. Definitely a part time job, which should skew the age of the girl younger or much older I suppose.

(And I do not intend to take her on any journeys once we leave Red Larch for good. This is just color, really, for Terry's "wealthy" lifestyle choice.)

Sounds Great! Give me a couple days to double check the NPCs in Red Larch and I'll get back to you on name/family and such.

For now write up your post and save it till I can get back to you.

Here's a rough draft. Once you have the info, I'll punch it up and post it IC.

Terry wakes with the sunrise and performs her morning prayers. There's a knock on her door during them and she stands and answers the door.
"Miss Terry?" inquires a young girl. She is in her early teens (MAYBE). Her clothing is worn, handed down perhaps from an older sibling, but clean.
"Ah, [NAME], here about the job? Please come in." Terry says. "What did [NAME of Woman from Bathhouse] tell you about what I need?"
"Mrs. [NAME] said you was lookin' to find a chamber maid. I know sewin' an' washin' an' cleanin', Miss Terry."
"That's exactly what I need," Terry says. "The thing is. I don't need a chamber maid every day. Some days I'll be out of town and there would be nothing for you to do. Likewise, I don't need someone to help me dress." She points at her armor. "I'm guessing you haven't much experience with putting on armor. And I don't need, or frankly want, someone fussing over me as I get dressed anyway. And I don't need you to blow out my lamp at night."
"I see, Ma'am."
Terry resists the urge to say "you can just call me Terry." {NAME} is young and she didn't want her getting into a habit that some nobles would beat her for.
"So, I'm paying 3 sp each day I'm here and chores need performing. And days when I'm not here, you'll get a 5 cp retainer."
"Ma'am is quite generous," she says with sincerity.
"So I'm actually not going to be around today. But as this is your first day, I do have some washing that needs done." Terry points to her set of clothes she is not wearing. "And you should wash these beddings. Ask the innkeeper where you can do the laundry. Also, sweep up this floor. Let me introduce you to the innkeeper so he knows you are allowed in my room."
After they do this, they return to the room where Terry finishes getting her adventuring stuff together and her armor on. "Okay, good luck. I don't know if I'll be back in the morning so just stop by to see if I'm here in the morning. Here's you 3 sp for the day. I trust you'll finish your work with proper diligence."
"Yes, ma'am," [NAME] says eyeing the silver pieces like she's never seen so much money before.
"Don't disappoint me or [NAME of woman from bathhouse], [Name]," Terry says as she leaves to meet the others for breakfast.

Here you go, sorry it is late I had computer troubles, and then the Holiday had me offline.

For you to quote/copy/paste

"Miss Terry?" inquires a young girl. She is in her late teens, twenty at the most. Her clothing is worn, handed down perhaps from an older sibling, but clean.
"Ah, Jorleen, here about the job? Please come in." Terry says. "What did Miss Hanadroum tell you about what I need?"
"Miss Hanadroum said you was lookin' to find a chamber maid. I know sewin' an' washin' an' cleanin', Miss Terry."

[sblock=Jorleen's Story]
Talking to Miss Hanadroum after your bath about anyone in town who could do some light maid service, the older woman tells you of poor Jorleen Splinder. She was married and her husband disappeared and is believed dead, Jorleen is so young no one in town calls her Widow Splinder. Her husband of three years was in a plowing accident and lost his arm. Unable to farm properly, or at least well enough on his own, Jorleen's husband tried his hand at adventuring locally. He has not been heard of in over a year so is believed to be dead.

Jorleen was going to try and join the Mirabar caravan and see if she could work her way to Waterdeep, and employment. Terry's offer is a relief to the young lady who doesn't wish to have to leave her hometown, for a city full of strangers.[/sblock]
