I have to say I really enjoyed Spider Girl when it came out. You might also want to look at Runaways. I know neither are The Avengers or X-Men, but they're about teens and pretty good.

I didn't watch The Waltons, so I didn't know Waite from there. I know him from NCIS where he played Gibbs' dad, Jackson Gibbs. I had a feeling this time was coming, but it doesn't make me any less sad. I loved Pop Gibbs. :(
They're only 1/2 an hour each, but The Amazing Screw-On Head & A Wish For Wings That Work are two very strange, but cool animated films. Screw-On Head is from Mike Mignola and Wish for Wings is an Xmas cartoon with Opus & Bill the Cat from Breathed's Bloom County/Outland comic strip.

It just seemed like it had a totally different flavor than the teasers from The BBC, for say Children of Earth. It was very slick, polished, & over the top, which to me says major motion picture or made for American TV movie.
