Orange County CA: looking for gaming group

Hey, I just moved out to the Orange County area and I'm wondering if there are any groups around looking for a player/DM. I prefer D&D 3.5 but I'm also willing to try just about anything, including homebrew rules. I have a pretty forgiving schedule at the moment. Thanks! -cotton

Elements of Magic: Revised -- Revised Again!

Maybe I'm crazy or something, but my copy of the revised EOM that I downloaded from rpgnow self-destructed after download! I tried to copy the .zip from folder A to folder B and it simply disappeared! Seriously! Now I can't download it again! Anyone else experience this? Really weird...

Real World Experience with XPH Psions?

There is one psion in my group. He is a Thri-kreen Kineticist/Monk. The powers he chose, such as Inertial Armor (+AC) and Energy Missile (ranged attack) complement his monk abilities very well. Oh, monks are houserule'd in our game to not have multiclass restrictions, which is why this combo...

Homebrew – Where did you start?

For my latest campaign it started with a gimmick, like many others here. It needed to stand out and I stole an existing idea from a video game to do it. The campaign used the basic premise from Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. If you haven't played it, the game world is covered in a...

What level do you start PCs?

While I can respect the "purist" opinion of starting at 1st level, I also like to give players the opportunity to play a race with a level adjustment. I think 3rd is a good starting point because it allows some multiclassing and also opens up a wide berth of new races.

    Treant Druid Character ... Help!

You're right, Savage Species does say that you must complete your monster class before multiclassing. This is so you don't get the advantage of the monster's type then immediately move on to another class. I am willing to overlook this in my game, however. I'm not terribly concerned if the...

    Treant Druid Character ... Help!

Thanks for the advice so far, it has been helpful. This player has played many Druids in the past, and she's looking for a Treant this time around for a very different feel. She will likely want to level Treant mostly, with the Druid being just for flavor really and to give her a job and...

    Treant Druid Character ... Help!

I'm starting a new D&D campaign, and one player wants to play a Treant Druid. I'm allowing the Savage Species monster classes, which has a 12-level progression for the Treant. At any time, however, she may start taking levels in Druid. This introduces some interesting dilemmas for that...
