I'm not a huge fan of 4e, but I think Healing Surges was a good idea. It made clerics viable as something other than walking healing potions.

I'm not really surprised that PF would tie with 4e in sales. It had a built in audience. I think it's funny that some people actually think 4e is outselling 3e, though. The future will be very interesting at WotC. I suspect 5e, if it is ever published, has been bumped up based on sales alone.

It used to be. Now it's mainstream. Those of us who were kids when Judas Priest and Iron Maiden were big are now in our 30's and 40's. Kinda hard to be rebellious if old people like you.

Is there enough world info to make the book worthwhile for another system, or is 50% stats? Thanks!

Of the two, I'd pick Hero. It is designed from the bottom up for supers.

I really like BFRPG. I do think Thief skills could use a slight bump at early levels. I also use the optional "similar to 2e" way of increasing them. Humans work out ok, as they level faster than everyone else.

I also have this book. Easily the most useful rpg purchase I've made in years. It's not super fancy, but is a lifesaver if you're a DM in a hurry.
