Arcanist is a hybrid class that blends wizard and sorcerer, both arcane classes. Has anyone created a hybrid class that blends both arcane and divine spell casting?
Our party just leveled up to 11th last night, and our druid wanted to take the leadership feat. Her goal is to attract a level 7 cohort, not an NPC but a CR=7 creature. RAW states that it is generally (meaning not always) an NPC with class levels.
Has anyone ever been in a game where CR was...
In my regular game, two of the five players are creating new characters for the next session. Yhey agreed with my list (evil or not).
If the answer to all three is yes, they will be welcomed, evil or not.
While that is true, sometimes you just want to play an evil character.
And just as an evil character can be badly played where the player wants to be a mindless monster, a good character can be just as poorly played if they don't want anything killed/harmed and the party could not collect loot...
The only prestige class I would consider is Mystic Theurge (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/core-rulebook/mystic-theurge), but only in a higher level campaign.
Sorry, I read that as one in the same.
The jist of my statement is that after witnessing uselessness, they would have accepted a monster over that.
Sure, the LG paladin probably would have been better, unless it tried to prevent the party from being profitable!
Not completely correct.
Some players are very capable of building an effective character, but choose to try out a concept that just doesn't work (see above dog rider comment).
Other players, no matter how they try, just can't create an effective character.
None of the above to cases involve...
I posted the below elsewhere, and would like to ask what rules that players still find broken in Pathfinder.
For me, I picked the Improved Familiar feat (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/improved-familiar), and from this list...
AD&D through 3.5ed had many broken things in them, and I miss that.
Nobody ever tells a favorite story that praises balance, most of our favorite stories are about what we did by taking advantage of something that was broken in the rules.
But to be honest, for me Pathfinder is an improvement...
Here is an example of a character that stunk up the field.
We knew that our party was short on front line damage dealers, so player X was going to create a ranger. It sounded good until he showed up with a gnome dog rider. The inept thing did 1d3 of damage and was completely useless in battle...
Not true, not every character is effective in getting the job done.
As a player (metagaming), at a minimum I hope for three things in other players' characters:
- Will they be an interesting addition to the group?
- Will the player cooperate with the group?
- Will that character contribute to...
I plan on running the Against the Giants series and afterward the Descent into the Depths of the Earth series, both in Pathfinder. I had both played and DMed them in AD&D. I ran Against the Giants in 3.5 edition and it went very well, but did not attempt Descent into the Depths of the Earth. In...
