It's a shame about the TPK. I guess that's the downside of lethal campaigns. Of course, the upside is that they're generally more exciting.
I look forward to reading about your next campaign, hopefully.
I wasn't suggesting you were being harsh, but I appreciate the sentiments!
I admit, that does not sound like fun.
I will definitely check that out.
At this point, it is variable, because not everyone has selected their races. Another player is going to be playing a Doppelganger, which...
Hmm.
Well, I'm not really trying to optimize my character, but I definitely don't want to be a dead weight to the party either. If you tell me I will be a dead weight then I guess I... should probably change my class.
I appreciate the advice, but I feel like I'm detecting a little...
Aw well. A bit disappointing, but I suppose it's understandable.
Thanks for your answers, even if they're not what I wanted to hear.
Really? I mean, I don't know, but having a small heavy crossbow that does 1d8 damage seems like it would keep me pretty useful even at the lower levels...
I'm going to be playing a pixie sorcerer in an upcoming campaign (my first, actually), but there's something I'm somewhat confused about.
Because of racial bonuses, I have a +8 Charisma modifier. This enables me to use a lot of spells per day. However, a number of the spells per day I can...
Just want to tell you how much I'm enjoying reading this. I'm very new to D&D, but this is still really fun to read.
I loved your Epic Virgin thread too, but this is even better since I've been reading it from the beginning.
Thanks a lot for finding that. I was pretty sure that it had to be in the rules somewhere, but I didn't know where.
A bit strange that they put it in the Resistance and Vulnerability section, but I guess they didn't anticipate that there would be powers not related to resistance that would...
With a power like Iron to Glass, where the enemy can get up to -10 penalty to damage roles, what happens when the penalty exceeds the amount of damage done?
Does the attack instead heal the target? That would be extremely goofy. Does it just do zero damage?
If there is an answer to this...
On the earlier pacifism debate, I think there are a number of definitions. The only one I could see fitting a playable D&D character would be a sort of religious pacifism. A sort of vow of pacifism, if you will.
For example, monks who take vows of silence do so to show their devotion to...
The wording for the immovable shaft says that once it is in place and Immovable, it is a minor action to "reposition" it, which makes me think that it does not take another minor action to reactivate it.
If it had simply said "move" I would agree with you, but "reposition" makes me think that...
It comes with Player's Handbook Heroes: Series 1.
Only reason I know about it is my DM's DDI subscription.
Jist of it is at-will teleport 1 as a move action, so I guess it's supposed to be like a super-shift. I think warlocks can get it around level 10.
It could be significantly more powerful with a teleportation distance increasing item or two.
I'm not expecting all DMs to allow this, but there are currently enough of this sort of items to increase the distance by eight squares, transforming a one square at-will teleport into a nine square...
I'm quite new to D&D, so it's very possible I missed something.
However, it seems to me like a character with the utility power ethereal sidestep and an immovable shaft is capable of something roughly equivalent to flight. It can be moved with a minor action.
The immovable shaft is...
