    [GENCON] See ya all there!!!

I'm getting ready to head out the door and make the 5-minute drive to the convention center to register. :p Man, I'm lucky I don't have to make that trek to Milwaukee anymore!! See you other EN-Worlders there.....although I won't recognize any of you except Morrus & EN (except for the...

(ot, kinda) enworld gathering at gencon(sign up to share a cab, offer a ride)

Just thought I'd give those of you heading to the airport from the bar a realistic drive time. You're looking at around 35-40 minutes from the door of the bar to the terminal, because that bar is in the Castleton area, which is on the opposite side of town from the airport. Also, the drive...

    Value of a Spell book?

The PH does cover preparing spells from someone else's spellbook. I believe for any particular spell, the Spellcraft DC is 15+spell level, so it can be used without copying everything out of it, it's just less efficient. :)

    Barbarian Rage

I guess I should clarify. The PH states that the fatigue lasts for the duration of the encounter. If the barbarian is not in an encounter when the rage lapses, when does the fatigue end? Also, can you start a rage outside of combat? Thanks again! -Steve

    Barbarian Rage

Quick, I need help; we're in the middle of a session. Can a barbarian choose to stay enraged even though an encounter has ended?? He killed the last enemy and wants to stay enraged for the remaining duration to allow the cleric to get to him before he begins dying from losing the hit points he...

Clobbered Variant Rule and Level Drain (2 Separate Questions)

Thanks sithramir! What about AOOs, do you allow Clobbered (or Staggered for that matter) combatants to use them or not? The rules don't say you can't, but I'm leaning towards no in my campaign. What do others think?

Clobbered Variant Rule and Level Drain (2 Separate Questions)

I have two separate questions. Feel free to help me with either one, both, or neither. :) 1.) Do you use the Clobbered variant rule from the DM's Guide (3.0, don't know if it's in 3.5 since I don't have the new book yet)? If not, why, and if so, do you treat it like criticals and...

GEN CON and the Indianapolis Area

Ashy: Yes, if you are coming up I-65, you shouldn't have any problems with traffic. The Westin is a VERY nice hotel! They do have on-site parking, but there is a daily charge of $16.00. There is also a Shula's Steakhouse and Starbucks inside the hotel. The Rathskeller is not in a basement...

Spider: Sorry, I have never heard of any of those bands, although I'm not into the "true" alternative scene. I do know that Radio Radio is a very new club on the southeast side of downtown although I've never been there. It is quite a hike from the convention center though, so you will...

Negative Zero: When I eat downtown, I normally eat at one of the following establishments: TGI Friday's Houlihans Alcatraz Brewing Co. Ram Restaurant & Big Horn Brewery They all offer entrees in the $10-15 average price range. If you're looking for something more upscale, you can expect to...

d20Dwarf: The construction project should not affect you at all. You can take I-70 all the way to the West street exit and then take that North (Left off the exit) to the convention center & RCA Dome. This link should answer your parking questions, http://www.indydt.com/parking.html but...

Ashy: Here is the official link regarding the construction project you are referring to (Hyperfix): http://www.in.gov/dot/div/specialprojects/hyperfix/ If you are flying in, you shouldn't be affected at all as you can jump right on I-70 East from the airport expressway and take...

Crispy Critter: You will be about 3-1/2 blocks North and about 2 blocks East of the convention center. PirateCat: My basement is finished, so not drafty at all, and there is a comfortable sofa. However, you'll have to negotiate the obstacle course that is my gaming area! :D
