    The Enterprise through the ages

I just can't get along with that cut-off saucer section. Makes it look half-finished.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

The worst part of that is when they're doing connected series. You wind up having to choose between wading through the dross or missing parts of the story.

    General video game discussion

That part gives it some distinctly Bioshock Infinite vibes.

You should read (or listen) to Dungeon Crawler Carl

I've listened to the first book and was entertained, but not entirely convinced. The very artificial nature of the competition makes it tough to feel like the stakes are real. Currently I'm working my way through the Cradle series. I may go back to DCC afterwards. Pretty much what it says on...

Upcoming AAA/AA CRPGs or story-based RPGs (updated 15/04/2025)

Visually it follows the design language of the Expanse TV series very closely, and a small team assaulting a base or enemy ship is something that happens several times during the series, whether TV or novels. Not sure how much closer it could get while still being a cover-based RPG shooter.

Upcoming AAA/AA CRPGs or story-based RPGs (updated 15/04/2025)

It wasn't a ship, it was an asteroid base. And these guys don't look military, more like independent contractors like the Rocinante crew, so they're unlikely to have access to power armour.

Upcoming AAA/AA CRPGs or story-based RPGs (updated 15/04/2025)

"They never look up." Immediately gets shot from above. Not that "up" should mean anything to a true Belter. I'll definitely be looking forward to this one.

Appendix J: Anime, Manga, & JRPGs

Apothecary Diaries is quickly becoming a classic. Captures the feeling of a place and time very well, and using a scientific approach to mystery-solving gives it a unique flavour.

Spoilers Doctor Who s15 (or 2) [[spoilers!]]

It's been like that ever since the start of "new Who", which was certainly not built around streaming models. More just the constraints of wringing every bit of value out of their budget, which wouldn't stretch to a longer production schedule.

Spoilers Doctor Who s15 (or 2) [[spoilers!]]

Yeah, and there were similar things mentioned of later seasons, so it probably hasn't got any better.

And was Ernest Borgnine still re-alived in that timeline? If not, what happened to not leaving anyone behind?

More the former than the latter, it looked like they each had their own room, but also shared communal spaces like the kitchen.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

My phone's autocorrect is pretty reasonable, but the one on my tablet is really annoying, often correcting a regular, correctly-spelled English word to another one just because its algorithm thinks I was more likely to have been failing to spell that one than successfully spelling the one I...

Captain America: Brave New World - Official Trailer (2025)

The fleet encounter at the Celestial island was a good example of a successful de-escalation from an in-universe perspective, but from an audience perspective it does feel like we were denied the spectacle of a Red Hulk leaping between aircraft carriers and smashing up guns and planes.
