Not alot but first Best single hit. Not a really huge amount but happend at the best time. 3rd level Great-axe weilding Half-Orc Paladin First encounter in a new campaign, yes we started at 3rd level, is with 2 large zombies and one huge. Gets highest initiative, declares a smite evil...

Identifying Magic Items (Comments and Suggestions welcome again)

Skills to identify items I allow characters in my campaign to use various knowledge skills to identify magical items and effects. Knowledge Arcane/Religion/Nature depending on what type of item it is, with arcane applying to both religion and nature type items as well but with a higher DC...

Something funny about bow max distance

Seen it done My party decided the best deversion was to start a fire in a enemy fort. The elven archer (with farshot) decides to fire from his maximum range. So Hitting a Bale of hay from 1400ft away (thats a -18 to hit penatly), was still able to hit the bale on a 3 or better with his...

Price an item that knows when you drop...

I don't know how this would add to the cost, but I wouldn't consider this a use activated 1/day item but a always on item. Its effects happens whenever you need it without you needing to spend an action. I think that would bump the price up some.

Cost of combining effects of magic items

And, IIRC, it doesn't matter in what order they are enchanted. The most expensive is applied first then the rest are applied at double cost. Also, when you upgrade magic items you only pay the difference of the old cost to the new one, it doesn't matter what order they are put on in. Example...

Meditating elves and rolling to wake up

Funny thing. I looked through the text about spellcasting and the spellcasting classes and could not find any rules that says that you can only memorize spells once a day. Now there are many things with suggestive labels like "Spells per day", "Daily Readying of Spells", and "daily spells"...

    What's Up With The Monk?

Something that I have really noticed in the campaigns that I have either been in or close friends have been in, the monk is the MASTER of one thing survival. This means that in a game where characters are generally not going to die alot, this strength just isn't that important. But in some...
