Like any of the setting material you shouldn't have much problem converting it for use with any of the Traveller rulesets I'd imagine. And we'll still be supporting T20 and Gateway for a good while yet.
Once they expire they will not be renewed and the Mongoose Traveller and T5 will be the only two system available, one as the 'basic rules' the other the 'advanced'. In the case of T20 we still have a few years to go.

We released a PDF version while a final layout and new artwork is being produced. It's also giving us a chance to clear up any typos and errata before printing. Unfortunately real-life has hit both the writer and the artist at the moment so work has slowed down a bit.
