Chaotic alignments and roleplaying… what’s your take?

I think Baron Opal put it really well. Chaotic characters are less willing to subsume their aims to those of others. This doesn't mean that they will plan less or are less intelligent. In fact, they will be likely to force other people to adhere to a plan if they think it's a good one, rather...

Road to Revolution by 0one games

I spotted this adventure path and I was thinking of picking it up. Anyone here run/played any of these adventures (or other 0one products)? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Best way to handle stronghold/domain rules

I would strongly recommend getting hold of the Birthright AD&D setting. There were some nice usable domain rules in there which could port easily over to 4E.

    Your (ideal) 5-Person (4e) Group?

Eladrin polearm warlord (spiral tactician) Orc battlerager axe/shield fighter (dreadnought?) Half Orc two weapon brutal scoundrel rogue (shadow assassin) Elf archer ranger (battlefield archer) Human wizard (divine oracle) If i start to think about PHBII then I'll never be able to decide!

    Humans living in the Feywild?

I can see all sorts of races adapting well to the feywild. What I'm not sure about is why an Eladrin would choose to leave the feywild and head to the human world! From an Eladrin point of view it's bleaker, darker, tastes and smells are muted, more boring. Maybe because it's safer?

Pallys get Platemail Feat but Fighters do not?

I have no problem with paladins getting plate prof over fighters, but the 3.5 mindset in me can't deal with the fact that fighters have to meet the str/con feat requirements to do so and my paladin wore plate with STR 13...

    Rogue shopping

I'ma huge fan of any of the armours that give resists, but veteran's armour is always a staple. I'd second the neck slot item to boost defences, plus acrobat boots and the gauntlets that reduce enemy damage resistance as par for the course.

    Maps/atlas for generic fantasy world

I've been looking for good maps too. Always the most difficult part of any homebrew for me. One good source is the Earth! I mean, flip through an atlas or online map of the world till you find a nice region that has the required coast/mountains/rivers, rotate 90 or 180 degrees to taste and...

Thanks for the responses, guys. A simple reflavouring looks like the way to go. Maybe a look at Dark Sun is in order too...

    Parrying as an immediate interrupt

I've been considering running a prehistory, low tech level campaign for a while (eg. pre elven civil war, dwarves still enslaved by giants, no Gods around), perhaps with a bit of Celtic and Norse flavour - roll on PHB II for primal goodness! The lack of availability of decent AC bonuses from...

    Quick Paladin question

Do the -2 attack penalties to marked opponents from Divine Challenge and Enfeebling strike stack? If so that seems like a very effective combination! Do Fighters and Paladins compare well as defenders or would you say one has the edge over the other?
