Black Flag Tales of the Valiant is out! What do people think?

Hey there. Responding from the Kobold trenches. We have TONS of ToV stuff coming down the pike. The Game Masters Guide and Labyrinth Worldbook are only the beginning! We are making some really exciting stuff!!! -Brian Suskind

    D&D 5E Help parsing 3rd party spell

So true. Especially since monsters (cough cough GMs) tend to ignore downed PCs.

Shrug. Like I said, your milage may differ. I always viewed making death saves as a more "active" thing but it is a bit of a gray area.

    D&D 5E Help parsing 3rd party spell

Totally agree with the first part. That was my mistake. They would indeed drop to 0 in round 1 and their next turn might be in that round, depending on where they and the foe were in the initiative order. Not totally sure at the second part of your post. The wording of the spell doesn't say...

    D&D 5E Help parsing 3rd party spell

Hey there. So my read of this is that it does not make the character immortal. As Quickleaf noted, any damage becomes a failed death save. This just lets you keep going while at the point of death. As far as when they make the death save, the spell says they don't make them until the end of...

D&D 5E Kobold Press (and are they the new Paizo?)

Me too! Asian settings are a trifle problematic right now so we'll see.

    Eberron conversion

Hi Iron Dragon, I've been running an Eberron campaign for (yikes) six years now and we recently switched to Pathfinder. To be honest, I didn't find anything that had to be radically altered to make the campaign setting work with pathfinder. Just the usual 3.5 to pathfinder stuff. I've found...

What were medieval times journalist-types called?

The suggestions already given (bard...etc.) are good ones. Another to consider is the term Advocate. This was the closest the later Middle Ages got to a lawyer. They would be hired by nobles or merchants to represent them in legal cases. Many of these were pretty funny by today's standards...

    Suggestions for Role Play Module

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to look through Redhand, Splintered Peace and Making a Name and see if I can't make one (or more of them) work.

    Suggestions for Role Play Module

Thanks Crothian! I'll have to look at that one. My players are about 13th level, but perhaps I can modify that adventure for them. If you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them!

    Suggestions for Role Play Module

Does anyone know of a adventure or module that is primarily role playing based? I'm looking for something that has political intrique but I can also use a mystery or basically anything role playing rather than a hack and slash, combat-based adventure. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Level Differences - How long to catch up?

Thanks for your help on this. I think my problem is that it is just taking a long time for the lower level people to catch up to the higher level ones. Like you said....its glacial....

Level Differences - How long to catch up?

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought. I am using the standard XP stuff from the DMG, and, you're right, it is really really slow. In your experience would it be worth it for me to bring the lower level party members to within 2 levels of the highest level guy?
