D&D General D&D at 50 - Event at British Library - London (and virtual)

Indeed but he set up GW first and it is GW that is relevant to D&D not FF.

D&D General The most played D&D Adventure of all time

Oh I’m sure. I started with B/X and played B2 many times. Metric was talking about versions and the Hackmaster version is possibly the best.

And there’s the Hackmaster version which is basically a reprint.

Unique British aspects of D&D in the UK?

D&D is largely about the frontier. That strikes me as very American. The wilderness, the edge of civilisation, it’s very much the Wild West with medieval trappings (and lots of anachronisms). (I grew up in the States 1978-1983, which is where I discovered D&D but I am English and was reading...

D&D (2024) New Classes for 5e. Is anything missing?

Correct, get rid of the Sorcerer and the Warlock. (If you must have them make the Sorcerer a Wizard sub-class and the Warlock a Cleric sub-class.)

D&D 5E Getting Rid of Variable Weapon Damage- An Immodest Proposal

For a B/X type game I am a big fan of damage by class, probably following HD type. I want my wizard to wield a sword but I am happy with him doing less damage than a fighter wielding the same sword. That makes sense. But we do need to do things like increase damage for two handed weapons to...

D&D General I hate pdfs, and I'm happy that WOTC primarily publishes Books

I love books but I also love the convenience of pdfs and reading them on my iPad.

OSR A Historical Look at the OSR

I think a lot of this depends on how old you are and when you started playing. For me 1e/BEC and earlier is old school. Anything later is Middle school. I still see Unearthed Arcana as old school but it was the beginning of the end and Wilderness and Dungeoneer Survival Guides were the end of...

    Sell Me on OSE

Which books do I need to get into OSE, the hard copies seem confusing.

D&D 5E The Dual Wielding Ranger: How Aragorn, Drizzt, and Dual-Wielding Led to the Ranger's Loss of Identity

@Snarf Zagyg have you got a link to that cover, I have never seen that before.

    D&D 1E Giving an AD&D feel to 5e

The only changes I would make would be restrictions on races and classes/subclasses. So only elves and half elves can be Eldritch Knights or Arcane Tricksters etc. For example.
