Yes, I agree the spell is really strong both as a buff and a debuff. Incredibly flexible in what it can do. I think it will remain the first pick for many casters at 7th level. The fact that many spells like banishment were nerfed but polymorph was left alone only widens the gulf and exacerbates...
Any thoughts on Polymorph? In o5e it was a go to spell in my groups, and I'm a bit surprised it did not receive a tweak. Turning into Giant Apes and T-Rexes is fun, but rather strong when you get it at 7th-8th level. Or am I missing something?
Cool, thanks!
As a suggestion, you might want to replace the pg. 450 text with the pg. 616 text. That read much cleaner to me and keeps it consistent.
FYI, I do think it is a pretty darn cool rule thematically.
OK, but when are you going to die? After the 2d12 hours?
So, if you are dying you can have hp restored, become conscious, and continue doing your thing until the 2d12 time is up right?
Looking between the two definitions given for doomed below I'm a bit fuzzy on how it works exactly. First, I'm assuming that it triggers on 7 fatigue rather than 5 as the pg 450 definition suggests. My questions are:
1. If you are conscious does it do anything? Does healing magic work below 7th...
I do agree that $50 for effectively 150 pgs after removing filler/reprint is on the steep side. At least it has a sizable amount of that is useful crunch so I will still be buying it for the sub-classes mainly. I also appreciate the playtesting and feedback that went into them as well so I'm not...
Overall I like these. My one suggestion would be to change the contested rolls to saves based on the appropriate stats. As noted by others, the bonus from expertise would mean you almost always win the contest once you hit tier 3 play. Either that or make the bonus abilities have a limited...
I think they are fine as long you enforce the animal intelligence aspect. The problem with restricting is that the majority of beasts above CR 2 are critters you rarely see. Elephants at CR 4 are probably the most common, but even those might not exist in many areas. Burning a 4th level spell...
I imagine it depends on context for most. In an ongoing campaign, I doubt many (myself included) find it very enjoyable. Not exactly very good for continuity.
However, in a one-off "Deathtrap Dungeon" situation, where death is not only taken into account but expected, I think there is some...
Killing a downed PC is easy in any edition. Well, in 2nd they are immediately dead at zero so it is a non-issue. In 3rd you die at -10 (or negative Con in Pathfinder) and one hit on a downed player is all generally it takes there.
What really separates 5e from older editions is how difficult...
Psi progression is not "borked". I reversed engineered the psi point progression, and it follows a typical spell progression pattern, but is based on psi limit rather than spell level. The table below demonstrates the breakdown. To get back to total psi points just multiply each of the "slots"...
