D&D 5E Point Buy vs Rolling for Stats

My method to roll character combine the best of point buy and random rolling: I use cards to generate random and fair characters. All players use the same cards, so no "unbalanced" characters even if random is involved. (In short: 12 cards numbered 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9; deal 6...

D&D 5E How do you generate ability scores for PCs?

I use cards (twelves cards numerated 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9 and 9): 1) Shuffles. 2) Deals 6 stacks of 2 cards. 3) Optionnaly, you may swap any 2 cards. Once. 4) Assign each stack to any stat. 5) Adds numbers. 6) Write the number to the stat. The best of the two worlds (randomly...

What's The Deal With D&D Translations?

Thanks. I already know of that translation. I want the physical book to give as a gift to my 8-12 years old nephews and a printed document don't make it. And it's always easiest tu run an adventures in my native language (for me anyway).

D&D 5E About Rolling for Ability Scores

I'm using a deck of cards to generate stats. My deck contain cards with numbers 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9 and 9 on them. Shuffles the deck; deals randomly 6 stacks of 2 cards; swaps any 2 cards, if desired; assigns each stack to any stat. That's it. Nice blend of random and control, I...

D&D 5E How Will You Be Generating Stats in 5E?

I'm using cards too. My deck is: 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9. Deal 6 stacks of 2 cards, swap any 2 cards if desired and assign each stack to any stat. That's it. Nice blend of random and control, I find. No complain to date.

D&D 5E Should the Fighter's "Second Wind" ability grant temporary HP instead of regular HP?

I suggest than "Second Wind" grant temporary HP, but regular HP if used within 1 "Short Rest" of taking damage, or else only if under half hp.

D&D 5E Animate Dead and Alignment Restrictions

I really agree with that! Or else, there is an almost infaible protection against Animate Dead. Or else, there is a major cosmic reason not to burn the dead. So an equally good (Evil?) reason not to Animate them.
