It's a question of your groups desire of death, many players just launch themselves over the monster and when they realize that the monsters are more powerful of what they expected, it is too late.

Wow, you sure did a nice work on all those monsters...

A box set is just too expensive, mainly because there is not a provider who actually dedicates to do stuff like the ones needed for the box, so they need to be done practically in artesanal way.

Gimp or Dungeon Crafter are your best options, as they are free and you can get nice results.

Well, they have a bad politics scheme, it's clear that they mess up when they launch 4th, as they believed they were the only powerful force on the market, im sure now they realize that they were wrong...

+1 I love the systems with strong rules, it helps to develop the game with consistency.

I usually don't introduce new rules into a game until i start a new one, throw new rules at your players is not a good idea unless you know them very well or something is really broken. In general i don't like "average results", as they change the spirit of the game. I don't see nothing wrong...
