Monsters in the MM3 (and other upcoming books)

Good catch!

I also anticipate alot of wasted space explaining where extraplanar creatures fit into the cosmologies of the Forgotten Realms and Eberron. Additionally, the requirement to replace a creature on the summoned monster list with another similar creature is additionally space-wasting, and pointless in my opinion. Bummer.

I also don't like the name "arrow demon". Couldn't they have come up with a tanar'ri-sounding name (like arizu or arrolith or somesuch) as well? Besides, only devils go by their descripting names (bone devil) rather than their "true" names (osyluth)...demons always have the "true" names.

I think I'm going to be fairly disappointed by the MM3, but will enjoy the new creatures nonetheless. Despite its name, the arrow demon is quite cool and fills a niche missing in the demonic ranks.

seriously. even "archer demon" would have been 10 times better.

Nice! I like the belozu. I'm afraid that toxonolith would make folks think of "toxic", and thus "poison demon".

And yes, "archer demon" would have been 10 times better. When I first heard "arrow demon", I expected something like the arrow battleloth, a fiend that takes the form of an arrow.

I had the same reservations about using toxon[anything], but it is a related word, and thus I threw it out.

And yes, I had much the same image about the arrow demon.

i think it would be cool to have a little ugly fellow that has like 50 arrow-like things sticking out of him, kind of like a little missile rack. ;)
