I heard someone suggesting that they are five new energons, each tied to it's own energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire and sonic)

Edit: Considering the pics here and here, the energons are without a doubt based on the five energy types. Note the flames on the red, the ice mist on the light blue, the dripping liquid on the green, the sonic wave rings on the purple, and the crackling jolts of electricty on the blue.

It leaves out 6 of mine. The last was a joke. Yeah, it was all a joke, but the last was a joke inside the joke. (Xag-Yg for the energon of unspeakable madness, I'm sure Col_Pladoh would love it.)
