Tren are in the WotC Monster Mayhem archive, as "Troglizards". Seems they underwent a few changes, though.
Oh yeah, duh.Gez said:You could have slapped "First time in 3.5" for ophidians too, since they are in the FF like the khaasta.
The sarrukh appeared in Dragon #303 as "Creator Race", but were not mentioned with that name and are rumored to have changed significantly.Gez said:Genuinely new (for WotC D&D3, I mean) critters appear to be the tren, amphisbaena, and mageslayer. Maybe sarrukh, but I'm not sure about them.
Indeed they are.Knight Otu said:Tren are in the WotC Monster Mayhem archive, as "Troglizards". Seems they underwent a few changes, though.
Actually, I believe they are fully new. The Dragon creator race was, IIRC, based on the Neverwinter Nights game, in a "Silicon Sorcery" article.Shade said:The sarrukh appeared in Dragon #303 as "Creator Race", but were not mentioned with that name and are rumored to have changed significantly.
Yeah, but in this case, we were talking about WotC appearances.BOZ said:
IIRC, Rich Baker said that they are a different "take" on the same creatures. So essentially, they probably are fully new, except for the same original source material from way back when.Knight Otu said:Actually, I believe they are fully new. I'm with you there. The khaasta struck me as nothing more than another bipedal lizard race. Bo-ring.Knight Otu said:I would hope that the khaasta get a bit more interesting in Serpent Kingdoms. As presented in the FF, they are not.
