Yes a little leg work will be done next year. I was just so busy this year before the Con I had no time. Damn you Vegas! There are all sorts of good places to eat right around there. Next year we will have a comprehensive list, directions, a map, a good guide of things other than food, rteviews on hotels damn I want one now, I should probably get started if I am going to throw this out before GC 05.

Jeez I'll get it done, lay off!

I was at the Hyatt this year and if I return next year I will make more use out of the refrigerator in the room, all it did was hold botted water this year, next I will have fruit!

The event listing was avaialble on line and as a download. I had everything planned out in Excel way before the con itself. From what I have heard the conbooks are not mailed in adavance due to the cost involved.

So, anybody know of free parking within a mile or so of the Indy con center? Me and a friend were lucky for wizard world chicago with a forest preserve just a mile north on des plains river road.

Skipped this year's gen con due to very loving girlfriend & gamer friends too broke/ too busy and too proud to go.

Three things would have improved GenCon for me.

1. More friends in the carpool (a definite for next year).
2. Better games (I tried out some RPGA stuff and really didn't enjoy the style of play).
3. More time beforehand to plan my event schedule (I didn't know I was going to GenCon until May).

well here is a map for wizard world chicago cheap parking if it sticks to the donald e stevenson / rosemont horizon center in 05. Anybody got something close for the indy gen con?

I was a little put off when the legions of teenage football teams traipsed through the con. I got into it with one of them (His comment "That guy in tights looks like fag", my response "He likley doesn't shower with other men there Jennifer"...we stared for a bit, then he and his guys continued on their way...I gotta not drink so much at the Con)

Didn;t we have to pay to get into the Con? What were football teams doing there? :\

Anyway. I love Indianapolis. If I have a complaint it's this: Do something about the humidity

Were the football folk actually in the exhibition hall, or were they just in the convention center? There was a New York Jets vs. Colts game on Saturday, I think. Of course, it's possible that they snuck in. There were several times that no one even looked at my badge as I walked into the hall.

I don't think free parking exists downtown. The city owned lots are more expensive than the mall garage (gotta keep those revenues coming in, don'cha know?). I'm thinking for next year that I'll create some sort of spreadsheet listing the various parking venues and their prices for everyone here.

Looks like best prospects for free parking are the far off residential areas to the south.... not good. What are the nearest public parks? Those are usefull to those who scope the dealer floor for a day and leave before sundown.
