Almayce ponders whether or not to give Gliran a silent prayer inside his mind, while he moves to heal Hallidor again. He heals Hallidor 2 points. He decides to change praying to general cursing when his healing doesn't seem to have the effect he wanted again.

OOC: 5ft step to one square right, use wand of CLW at hallidor for 1d8+1 healing. Might actually be able to save those still bleeding, but It'll be damn close.

Razh takes a quick stab at Stinker with his silvered arrow and then pulls out another potion (CLW) and takes a step backwards, towards Ogrin, with the intention of pouring it down his throat.

Round 8

I13: Z bleeds.

I6: Juliana steps up to the plate, and attempts another trip attack. That’s easier said than done, given everybody’s recent rolling. However, the tide may have turned. The touch attack vs. LongTooth is “5” and that’s about all we need to know about this action.

I6: Almayce heals Hallidor some, enough (total of 4 points in 2 round) to bring him from –3 up to 1. Hallidor’s eyes open, and he’s prone. And not looking too stellar. He will go at I20 next round.

I1: Vargo and the Wolf… Vargo knows he’s not a match for LongTooth straight up, so he’s hoping that one of the other 2 people surrounding LongTooth will “get whacked” instead of him. He “aids another” Huln, who flanks LongTooth, who has already used up his AOO for this round. Vargo rolls a “9” and fails. Huln rolls a “10” and fails to hit.

LongTooth, for some reason, cackles. He’s a mean brute of a bastard.

ROUND 8

LongTooth 20
Hallidor 20
Slinker 17
Ogrin 16
Stinker 14
Raz 13
Zaeryl 13
Juliana 6
Almayce 6
Vargo & Wolf 1

I20: LongTooth takes a 5’ step back and whacks at either Vargo or Juliana, 50/50. Vargo is odd, Juliana even (determined by the to-hit roll). LongTooth aims and fires: “19”. That’s a hit. It’s odd. That’s Vargo, “he who messed with LongTooth’s bat necklace.” LongTooth does 8 points of damage, dropping Vargo negative with a brutal overhead slash.

“Ha ha ha… silly Humans… you are nothing without the infection… look how easily you drop, worthless scum! I might consider allowing you to live… if you beg, and accept the gift I bear in my blood – what say you?”

LongTooth looks at Juliana, clearly expecting a response.

I20: Hallidor, awake, at 1 hit point, but still game, grabs his mace (which had fallen out of his hand as he fell prone) and whacks at Slinker. He’s desperate, granted, but a brave bastard. “12” ain’t gonna do it given the prone penalties.

I17: Slinker, not paying much attention to the scrabbling of Hallidor at his feet, leaps at Almayce, poking with his rapier and biting with his plaque-encrusted teeth (poor dental hygiene). He rolls a “18” on the poke, which hits and criticals, perhaps. Threat confirmation roll is a “18” as well. Oh dear. “10” points of damage leaves Almayce at zero or negative (don’t have his current hit points).

Slinker giggles somewhat at the excellent aim (right through Almayce’s shoulder) and looks down at Hallidor with something close to pity. Close. But not quite.

I16: Ogrin bleeds.

I14: Stinker opens a can of whup-arse on Raz – or tries to. “5” and “11” don’t cut it.

I13: Raz attacks, steps back, and uncorks a potion ready to shoot it down Ogrin’s mouth next turn. His attack roll is “1”, about par for the course.

I13: Z bleeds.

I6: J responds to LongTooth in some manner.

"I'll accept your blood spilled on the ground." Juliana says.

Juliana's next action: She will take a 5' Step (If needed) towards Longtooth, and make an unarmed trip attack (does not provoke an AoO due to improved Trip, +2 to hit touch AC, +6 opposed str or dex check, and if fails, he can try to trip me back (Str vs +2). If I succeed, I get a free attack with the arrow (net +2 (+2, -4 for imp weap, +4 vs prone) , 1d4+2, 20x2)).

Gee, nice to know IC remembers us. :(

I6: Juliana is having none of LongTooth’s dubious talk of parley. She busts out with another trip attack, rolling a “13” and managing the trick. An opposed roll now occurs, Juliana rolls a “2” and LongTooth a “11”. Hm. LongTooth decides to trip back with, well….? His bite? Unarmed attack? I suppose he will kick out with a foot, or use his head to butt, or remove a hand from his 2 handed weapon – or bite. Rules are a bit wobbly on this one. And doing so provokes an AOO, or does it not? ARRRGHH. Can one bite thus not provoking an AOO to re-trip? Sounds rather silly. Can one provoke an AOO on a re-trip? Can you re-trip with a 2-handed weapon in your hand? Rgggghh. Any rules ideas?

Well, I’ll roll the opposed roll, see if it matters.... {pasuses to test Invisible Castle, it gave a duplicate double result, which is improbable but not impossible}.

OK after testing IC seems ok. Juliana rolls a "8" and LongTooth an "11". It matters, Juliana might be retripped if the rules allow it.

(OOC: No AoOs on Longtooth's countertrip, sad to say. Oh, and Z is at -8, so he needs healing badly--he likes this body because its his--finding another host would be an annoyance, though since this one doesn't have any XP yet to lose, not a majour one. We've dealt the rats, what, 1 damage by accident from the bats? At least the one who took that damage has been bleeding every round...Oh and Hallidor hit for a tad...Yeah, we lose)

Edit: She can drop her weapon to avoid being tripped, though.

OOC: Basicly, the trip back is simply he gets to make a strength check vs my str or dex chech (probably str in Juliana's case), with any modifiers he may get to trip. If he succeeds, he trips me. Basicly, he caused my trip attack (Legs) to throw me off balance. So, with those rolls, it appears that yes, indeed, I have been tripped (For I do not believe I get +4 for the feat on that roll). Ugh.

Edit: No, since I didn't trip with the silvered arrow (since it's not a tripping weapon)

*it is, verily, looking none too stellar*

At some point in the last round, Raz hears a voice -- an ancestral voice, no less -- which speaks in the clear tone one uses when telling stories by the fire to a large group of people -- a voice quite reminiscent of Raz's uncle who, when confronted by a troll both green and spitting bile, threw away his smaller blade -- whose bites the troll entirely ignored -- and instead 2-handed his trusty axe and, which great overhead strokes, managed to do enough damage to drive off the beast.

Raz remembers such a story, as he is kneeling over Ogrin. Remembers it, truly.
If Raz 2-hands his axe, he's doing 5-14 points of damage per hit, blowing through DR
