Pick that logo

BiggusGeekus

That's Latin for "cool"
We're currently working with a guy I shall call "Mr. Logo Guy". Mr. Logo Guy and I are going back and forth on the logo. I prefer vertical lettering. He likes horizontal. This is an issue because it's developing into a blood fude. Already four innocents have died in the crossfire.

So what do you guys think? Vertical? Horizontal?

Edit: Image buh-leted!

For the record it will eventually be colored in like so:

... I'm leaning toward #3.

Perhaps not what you want to hear, but I'm not a big fan of any of the proposed logos.

You need to decide if you want an icon, or a busy logo. An icon needs to be much simpler, and, well, iconic. Like these:

AEGLogo.gif

FFGLogo.gif

Simple and direct.

On the other hand, if you're wanting something busier, it should have a closer relationship to your brand identity. For example:

The propeller-beanie is too busy to be an icon, but, conversely, not closely associated with "parent's basement" to make any sense.

i agree with gareth, some more thought could definitely be used on the logo. Since it defines and brands your company, it should look as professional as possible.

Since you didn't ask if we liked the logo, but instead a choice, I'll go with horizontal. It looks better. Although I couldn't tell you why.

I know you didn't ask but...

Even though I agree with Gareth that the beanie doesn't go with the idea of 'Parent's Basement', I could still live with it if....

you picked a font with cojones!

Couldn't even tell you horizontal or vertical until the font changes. If you had a font with some oomph, actually - left-right-left vertical could be fun. (zigzag vertical starting with the first letter on the left, and make sure the leading's nice and close).
