Ever had a piece of art inspire a character?

May I remind you that I *am* taking requests now. A B&W full-body portrait is just US$30 away through PayPal.

;)

Also, I have a line of stock art PDFs debuting this week at Your Games Now, called Pozas Art Packs. Each release contains 5 high-quality images. Check out the link in my sig.

I can't remember where i found this (maybe Elfwood?), but for the longest time I've been meaning to use this as an inspiration for a character - possibly a fighter/monk, or an assassin.

Since you are shamelessly self-promoting yourself, how much would a color one cost (based upon my OP picture)?

cheers,

Keeping in mind that it's done in the style of the Eberron characters I posted in my Line Art gallery (i.e., "4 color"), I'll do it for you for US$50.

Tempting, very tempting... I really can't afford that right now, but before summer you could very well see a paying customer ;)

I found this little china cup in a curio shop by my house and it inspired a 7th Sea buckaneer character who wore the scarf because of a nasty cutlass wound to his mouth/jaw. It turns out it was actually a likeness of a famous English highwayman, Dick Turpin.

I come from an artsy sort of background; I've been drawing since I was 4 years old and can competently draw my own pieces and copies of pretty much anything Wayne Reynolds has drew.

No, but most of my favorite characters were inspired by music.

This may seem strange, but I am inspired sometimes by music or by a quick fighting animation or shot from a movie, then I pencial a character and later over the course of many d&d sessions, i paint the character.

I am also inspired by books, but sometimes i use by pictures and movies, but not directly, instead i mix and match.

the art in 3.5 usably does the opposite of inspire. I usaly cant cant get past how poorly drawn most of the pictures are, even if the may be painted well, and then if they are drawn well, the paint job sucks.

Cool!!
My fiancee is playing Liadan Telskaya deSeyruun, a cleric/fighter/human paragon/Master of Radiance/Radiant Servant of Lathander. I painted a mini for her, but she just got some new armor and he wants a new figure.

You can read about the adventures of Liadan and our party in the Shadows of Greatness story hour in my sig. :)

This is what she looks like: No this isnt my paint job, mine is nicer, cherry blonde hair, Silver and gold armor, etc. But its the miniature.
