Ever had a piece of art inspire a character?

I would say it's my most common means of character inspiration.

My next fighter

Yep, Saladin is bad a-, er, pretty cool . I like the stuff from War of Genesis, too. I based a PC off of Demian von Prios.

The university I attended had this sculpture on campus. It was supposed to be a replica of stonehedge (sp), but it wasn't. What it looked more like was stones strategically places and various heights and spaces. Everytime I look at this thing I can see a rogue tumbling around on the rocks for practice. So I created and played that rogue in a game. My character inspirations usually come from books or tv.

My next campaign features an investigator (homebrew class based on a rogue/bard combination but not a fighter) based on Monk.

I created a druid character inspired by this Elmore picture.

Now, if I could only find a good b&w wolf picture, roughly to scale, that I could then begin to photoshop...

My fiancee is currently playing a character inspired by the image Seeten is using as an avatar.

I'm often inspired by artwork, but for characters I tend to be inspired by miniatures. I got tired of trying to find the perfect mini for my character, and instead decided to let the mini come first and build the characters to suit.

I have an awful lot of of characters in cases at home waiting for opportunities to come out and play. :D
