No Elf sign yet?

I know from my lack of friends coming down with me that I am in the minority of those willing to go to the funeral of a man I hardly know. However, since I am here and got here with some time to spare, I thought I would relate that so far, there is no sign of people dressed up in Elf costums.

Er, yet.

If I can find some more wifi space later, I will give an update for those interested in the Elf update, and other things.

Okay, The viewing is still going on. For those interested, it is a closed casket, kind of a lavendar. There are lots of flowers from people all over the world. I took a few pictures, I will up load them in a bit.

Morrus, that banner is completely awesome.

For those of you not in the know, Morrus had a banner made with just about everyones screen name from ENWorld on it in tribute to Gary. That was just nuts. You should have told me, I could have printed that for free and brought it down with me. Oh well, it is still a very touching tribute. Kudos to you on that.

I guess there is a GaryCON going on today at 4:00pm. I didn't know about this coming down. I will stay for some of that, but it is a long ride back and I will most likely not stay for a lot of it. However, this will be my first official CON. I have never been to one, so I might stay for the whole thing.

Thanks to everyone who wanted to show up as an elf but didn't. So far, everyone, even the gamers, showed up in respectful garb.

The whole family was there, with the exception of Ernie, they said it was still too sad for him.

I'll post some pictures soon and maybe write more.

For someone who changed my life so much, I am surprisingly not as sad as I thought I would be. Sure I miss him and his work, but I think I am just learing to morn in a healthier way as I get older. More of a good closure than a sense of loss. Still, I'll miss a young man.

There is a picture of gary's family and if you look closley you can see parts of his casket. I have a closer shot of his casket that i took with permission from his daughters, but I will not share that picture. One, because it is my bit of gary to take with me and two because, even though i got permission, I could see it mad them sad when I took it. his family is on the left.

There is also a picture of a portrait someone painted and a set of flowers simply decorated with a ribbon that says Dungeon Master.

The other three are the ENWorld poster.

Oh, I couldn't reist, i had to dfind my name, as a great many other ENWorlders did as well. Thanks again Morrus.

It does look awesome, but I can't take any credit for it. That was all Michael Morris - and a damn fine gesture, I think!

The banner was a very classy way to show the magnitude of his impact.
