The Eye of Flame is disturbing to me though. It really grosses me out. It looks like some kind of prop from a horror movie. Some kind of human organ or something. Yuck.
Yes, it does!

I went and bought 4 packs, got the Oni, Ascendant Hellsword, Rakshasa Baron and Bahallanoth or w/e. The commons and uncommons for the most part are crap. I could have given a 5 year old a paintbrush and paint and seen better painted :):):):):). I have never been as displeased with the minis as this set...and yes I also got 2 effing gricks...the pieces are crap, and the minis on the pictures displayed on the WotC website, ya, they look like that...pieces of garbage. I won't EVER buy a pack of this set again, I was hoping they would have improved from what they had shown.

Yesterday I took my wife to get her Anita Blake comic, and I forgot cash. My FLCS has a minimum of credit card orders and I got 1 pack of Dungeons of Dread to pay for it all.

I am quite annoyed. Yes, we all know that collecting WotC's minis is apparently NOT what they want us to do, or they'd stop making utterly useless duplicates (essentially) of stuff like dogs, spiders, goblins and gnolls (which I got 1 of each to add to the, oh, 30 or so of each I already have). The goblin is pitiful, both in sculpt and paint. All of these are basically dull and bland.

Then there's the grell. WTF? OK, first off, a reprint of an old monster instead of breaking new ground? Stupid. THEN, when compared to the old cool grell sculpt you see the new one is actually "Alcoholic-Anemic Hatchling Grell" because of its overall whimpyness and pathetic looks.

The halfling paladin is just fine. The Shadow Demon is neat and the Spectral Magelord is very nice as well. So basically I got 3 good minis for $15 bucks. Never again.

I'd rather go to the local mart and get milk with change to buy a comic rather than taking another chance on this junk. Thanks for not surprising me WotC!

This is just silly. You bought 4 boosters, of course the distribution wasn't what you want. There are no distribution issues, sorry, there just aren't. This is analyzed set after set on the boards - the issues are with small sample sizes of individuals, not with WotC.

Out of twelve Giants of legend boosters I got seven Fiendish T. rexes. After that seventh one I stopped buying DDMs altogether. How big of a “sample size” would I have needed to get a complete set of the huge minis from that set?

The pictures mostly look like Cr@p... I won't be buying this set, except possibly a few individuals from my FLGS where I can inspect them directly.

If you buy a case (12 boxes), you get very very few "dublets" at least of the rare ones, obviously.

I guess I'm still feeling burned after Giants of Legend. Of 10 packs myself and my friends picked up, 7 were Nightwalkers. We always call the set "Nightwalkers of Legend".

Perhaps I am overreacting to the distribution based on a sample of 4 boosters, but I was in a bad mood to begin with due to the craptacular quality of 75% of the minins themselves.

...nevertheless, I remain unconvinced that certain Rares and Uncommons aren't as anywhere as rare or uncommon as others. I've seen it set after set - I've bought case after case of the things. Perhaps I am just supremely unlucky, but somehow I doubt that.
