S3: The Scythe of Seto (Bront Judging)[Completed]

Beamer knows that the normal rules of check & checkmate don't apply in this game. The King can take whatever risks he pleases, and he must be actually captured for the other team to win.

"Something tells me Raz has the right of it. Centaur, advance and lend your support to Rasereit. He should NOT be facing off against all those foes alone."

Edited: Leaving out the word NOT has a way of changing the meaning of a sentence. Good thing I'm not writing any religious or legal documents.

The centaur trots forward to support Razh & cut off the King's escape. In response, the Blacks move up their King Paw two squares.

OOC:
I'm thinking centaur up 1 and 2 left (to the white square 5 above Beamer). He would threaten the black bishop, the rook, and the queen and almost certainly able to do some damage on our next turn.

The centuar gladly trots forward, between the black pawns, which don't even seem to see it. In response, the Black Queen moves up and over, to guard the bishop and rook.

Please state your Centaur's readied weapons for attack, if he attacks, or defense, if he doesn't.

Rasereit rubs his hands together. "Ha ha, Ah kin hardly wait! Skewer 'im, ser!"

OOC: Take the bishop. Lance and shield for a charge, then drop lance and use mace.

"Yes, Sir Centaur. Bring that bishop to an end, the end of your lance."

OOC:
To elaborate a bit on Rae's tactics:
Round 1: Charge with lance
Round 2: Drop lance, draw mace, attack with mace
Round 3: Full attack with mace and use hooves as secondary natural weapons.

The Centaur rears on his hindlegs and paws the air in anticipation of a duel. He then hits the ground running, breaking into a charge at the black bishop. At the last moment the bishop suddenly springs into motion, leaping upwards, wings snapping out from its back. But the lance strikes true, directly into the chest. Sparks fly, and small chunks of rock seem to spray out onto the marble floor.

The black bishop veers, but still closes with the centaur, clawing with weapon-less hands, biting with huge teeth, and goring with its conical hat, splattering some of the centaur's blood.

The centaur drops the lance, and draws the mace & smacks at the black bishop. The heavy mace deflects harmlessly off the hard body of the flying bishop. The bishop continues to flutter in the centaur's face, clawing, biting, and goring, and seems to be getting the better of the fight. The centaur bucks, and tries kicking the bishop as well as smacking it with his mace. The mace hits again, but again seems to do no damage, though it makes a loud bang.

For a whole minute they duel. The centaur is a skilled warrior, and strikes the creature many times, but its weapons and hooves seem muted, unable to do significant damage even when they score a solid hit. The bishop is damaged several times, and its rock-like body is chipped, dented and scratched, but it finally lands on the centaur's back and sinks its fangs into the noble beast's neck. The centaur topples, and the bishop alights gracefully on top of it. The centaur slowly fades from veiw.

The black king then waves his arm, and sends his surviving minotaur knight forward.

Razh, from close range, can see the black bishop is in a sad state. He suspects one axe blow would finish it off.

"Argh!" Rasereit curses as the bishop finishes off the centaur. "Use two hands against these ones! Ser Centaur fought well, this black bloke's almost done. Ah don' dare take 'im, though, queenie and tall-dark-'n-gloomy are right there."

"Oi, Beams, watch that minotaur, don't let 'im sneak up on ye."

OOC: Suggest moving Beamer's bishop up and left, to A) draw the minotaur or B) protect Beamer if the minotaur comes in for check. Also, it gets another powerful white piece out on the field.
