ooc: not sure what the roots are near the slope and whether they provide cover or not.
[sblock=OOC]The roots are just part of the slope (presumably to explain why the slope hasn't collapsed).

The steep slope requires a DC 15 Athletics check to climb and you move at half speed.
Lacking info to the contrary I'm of the opinion moving down is just a normal action.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Is the pit the "victory area"? Or are the spaces directly behind the lizards douven pit as well? Otherwise waiting for new map if the humans moved.[/sblock]
[sblock=OOC]The pit is bigger than the victory area by one square. Oddly, it doesn't seem to have any game effect.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC -- moving and not moving]Nobody has "actually moved" at the start of combat. It'd be sort of lame to have NPCs hoping around in some kind "pre-battle shuffle" while the PCs are frozen.

So the guys in the pit are "starting to move". If they rolled a 20 they'd move before people, since they didn't they're moving after basically everyone.
(except Adain, because the dice hate him)[/sblock]

As the battle begins a hail of rocks fly from across the pit as a halfling reveals himself on the far side of the pit. The halfling is apparently a poor shot though.

[sblock=Combat - Brock/Zaram are up]
-Technically- Brock actually goes first. But honestly it's easier for me to just say the halfling went first. When it starts to matter he'll be going after Brock.

21 Brock
20 - Halfling Slinger - Stone rain. Lots of attacks (ALL MISS)
16 - Zaram
14 - Drakes
11 - Iridian
8 - Tyron
7 - Douven
5 - Human Rabble
1 - Adain

"Imposter!" Brock declares. "Tell us where the real Douven is ... or die!"

He charges forward swinging his warhammer, clipping Douven and the lizard to the south.

[sblock=ooc]forward to U9

+21 vs AC, 7 damage on Douven; if hits, mark him and cleave for 3 damage on 'lizard'.[/sblock]

Zaram steps forward, "Die lizard, you are a mockery of the true power of the dragon above!" He slices at the creature and in response to his challenge holy light surrounds the creature ready to smite it if the lizard doesn't attack the paladin.

[sblock=Actions]shift forward, attack lizard with holy strike. lizard takes -2 attack/6 damage if not attacking me. 25 to hit. 8 damage [/sblock]

Brock and Zaram plow into the front line injuring both "Douven" and one of the drakes.

The drakes respond, snarling and diving into the fray to protect their master. Zaram manages to deflect the snaping teeth but Brock is not so lucky (16 DAMAGE).

OOC Init 11 Iridian and Tyron's turn.

Tyron

Tyron moves to a better sniping position, blurring as he moves and avoiding the steep slopes. There he whispers: "Here is another one, laughing man." Before he summons a brilliant white flame and tries to set it in false-Douven's mind and body, but doesn't succeed...
[sblock=ooc]Tyron moves to BB8, courses 'Douven' and tries to 'witchfire' him.

Witchfire (to hit, damage, curse) (1d20+4=6, 2d6+4=6, 1d6=2)
And there goes my encounter power :(

Adain looks aghast at the sudden violence. "Fake? Fake?" He obviously seems confused. When the attack commences, he tries to wrap his head around it. "Don't kill Douven---false or true he may answer questions. Get those drakes first!" Matching his word, he steps next to the creatures, and calls forth a searing glow that stings the eyes of the faithless and empowers his friends
