Zaram removes his helm, and holds it under one arm. He walks to the edge of the pit, looking down and asks, "So you did send messengers then? Your own men, or from the town? If they were killed by kobolds, I hope they didn't cost too much. If you would have hired somebody like me, you wouldn't have such problems."

[sblock=Insight]Is he lying? I'm not trying to weed out info, just an honest question considering Zaram's background. Insight: 20 [/sblock]

OOC I did make a bunch of rolls. They are online. I didnt link to them. Iwould be happy to discuss the encounter in more details afterward. Parts of the rules are ... annoyingly open to interpretation.

Yes, well... in consideration of what happened to the poor fellow I wouldn't have done it. I was a poor decision.
But I did so want to get word back to my wife.

If you had to say you'd think Douven was lying. Nothing specific. Just a feeling.

"Cynthia got worried about you as well!" Tyron says. Cynthia is another of his daughters, not the one Tyron dates (as her father knows). But it is no lie.

Zaram smiles, showing his large teeth. "If the messenger did indeed perish, should we inform family? What was his name? Was he from town?" Your wife was worried, her beautiful red hair was beginning to fall out from fretting over you!

[sblock=ooc]Zaram sensing falsehood, continues to push the man, the man he thought once was honorable, trying to corner the man into another lie. Zaram intentionally mentions a color of hair that is not his wife's seeing if he can get the man to agree(disguised? changeling? going on a hunch here)to the false hair color.[/sblock]

Yes, well... As I said I'm very sorry about what happened to poor Otto and also want my wife and daughter not to be concerned...

Douven puts his hand up and rubs it through his hair. The rough looking men behind him begin to advance. The lizard-like creatures begin to growl menacingly.

[sblock=cue fight music]To my thinking nobody is really surprised by this turn of events. So its straight initiative rolls.
I'll roll for the monsters, any pcs who have not rolled and do the actions I have on Monday when I get access to invisible castle. [/sblock]
