[sblock=ooc - Shayuri]I didn't know where you wanted to put Thorn, so I just put her at K10.[/sblock]

[sblock=Battle Update!]The enemies defenses are AC: 16, Fort: 15, Ref: 12, Will: 12. They are indeed minions.[/sblock]

Squeal, Warforged barbarian 45/50hp, 21AC, 20Fort, 18Ref, 16Will

Squeal moves around the enemy, sword and trident working in unison to bring down the invaders trapped between Doren and the warforged. THe warforged then turns and faces the onrushing invaders.

"More blood to oil this ones gears" Squeal roars, weapons ready for the next wave

[sblock=actions]
Move - Shift to H9
Standard - Whirling Rend 27 vs AC vs I9, I8 takes the offhand damage, not rolled as they are minions
[/sblock]

"Fall back!" Torath says to the elven swordsman behind him. "I will join you as soon as I dispatch these ruffians."

[sblock=OOC] the swordsmen go before me but I'm thinking of burning an action point to take care of these three and then using my move to join with the others. Don't want that swordsman to be out there by himself. Just using a free action now and will take my turn at the top of the next round.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc HM]I labeled Torath's little buddy "f" for "friend."[/sblock]

The archers loose a hail of arrows that cleanses the immediacy of Strata's Pass. They let out a cheer of triumph, then load their bows for the next wave of scum to attack.

Torath's young ally slinks back to the phalanx with his shield held high. The phalanx drops into a tight formation, locking their shields together in a nigh-impenetrable barrier.

[sblock=NPC Actions]The archers clear out the center, as well a couple enemies in the back.

The swordsmen drop into Total Defense.

44 are dead. 56 have been placed.[/sblock]

The thugs seem to realize that this attack may not succeed, and the enemies' moods change from foolhardy recklessness to a more cautioned, doubtful approach.

It's Torath's turn!

Cleaning his sword off on one of the bodies the young knight (Torath smiles when he thinks of himself as a true knight), sheathes the blade and turns his back on the rabble as he walks over to Doren.

Giving a nod to the young officer, Torath's smile grows "A day to make Strata proud." he says laughing.

[sblock=actions] Clean blade: free, Sheathe sword: Move, Move to J8: Move, Save the World with a smile on your lips: priceless :p [/sblock]

The next wave of thugs approaches from the beach, but they appear to be the last group. The ships still full of cowardly bravos begin to lift anchor in preparation for a hasty retreat. The thugs already on the beach make a reckless charge toward the pass, but they barely manage to breach the mouth of the pass. A pair of rogue blades dash against Squeal's armor, but he remains mostly unharmed. One of the elven swordsmen falls to a slick dagger thrust, and the Knights of the Vale see an opportunity for a final push!

[sblock=Damage - Squeal]Squeal takes 10 damage and is down to 35 HP.[/sblock]

It appears that this is the final wave of enemies. Already, a cry of retreat can be heard issuing from The Cloak's vessels.

Doren's turn!

In a swirl of shadowstuff, Thorn vanishes from her corner and appears where the elf line is thinnest, swinging her glaive even as she bursts from nowhere at the lead thug.

"Your advance stops here! Listen to the horns by your ships! Your brethern have lost their will to fight! They're pulling back!"

She grins...a feral, wild expression.

"Every so often, you humans have to be reminded who invented warfare."

(Shadow Step to K6 and attack Guard at K5 with Shadowstorm)

To hit Guard at K5 - 27
Damage: 14
Roll Lookup

[sblock=ooc]Nice roll, Shayuri! Baern's up next, then Squeal![/sblock]

The thug dissolves under Thorn's quick, piercing thrust. His scream echoes above the clamor of violence, and his allies look to the wrathful Invoker on the clifftop.

Baern smiles as he points to a spot on the battlefield. His muscled arm begins to shake, and his veins become more pronounced as he turns his hand into an open palm and raises it skyward, pulling forth Blackmoor's radiance from the very earth, piercing his foes to the core.

[sblock=Actions]Grasping Shards centered on I6, rolling vs. FORT, from top to bottom, left to right: 1d20+9=19, 1d20+9=12, 1d20+9=26, 1d20+9=18, 1d20+9=14

That should take care of H7, I7, and J6. I6 and J5 are misses.[/sblock]
