[sblock=swimming]The light green plants and the bushes are both impassible right?

So my goal should be L 23? [/sblock]
[sblock=swimming]Any square that is completely occupied by plants is impassible, partially occupied squares are difficult terrain. You could shoot for L23, but you can't climb the slope on that side. L28 might be a better bet, as the slope on that side of the river is clear.[/sblock]

Alnar looks at Jezebel's heavy armor than sighs. Here take this, Alnar says taking a rope out of his backpack and handing it to Ferris. He ties the other end around his waist and jumps in the water. Surprised by the speed of the water he splashes around momentarily getting caught in the current but than swims to the opposite shore and ties the rope to a sturdy maingrove tree. Use this rope to help you get across he shouts.

[sblock=actions]
Move to S34 = Swim check fail.

Get pushed to T35.

(I than thought it might be a good idea to just set up my next 10 swim check rolls, I hope that is OK, here are the results).

Swim to L28 get on shore and tie a rope to the tree or something suitable making sure it is secure (I succeeded the next 9 rolls, which is enough to get there, so I suppose I don't need turn order(?))

Alnar swims lithely up the fast moving river and secures a rope onto a sturdy-looking mangrove root on the opposite bank, which Jezebel and Ferris use to simply pull themselves along its length to the opposite shore without having to attempt swimming in heavy armor. Looking to the top of the slope, the party can see it will be a tight squeeze to bypass the rapids below the crude dam without falling into the river, and possibly over the falls.

[sblock=terrain and ooc]The small mangrove tree at D18 largely obstructs your path. You can make a DC 13 Acrobatics check to squeeze by it, or find some other way to deal with it. You can post your turn in any order.[/sblock]

After the other cross Alnar retrieves the rope and turns his attention to the new problem. Lets see if we can take care of this tree he says. Calling upon all his strength he rips the mangrove from its roots and throws it in the water. Let's go he says to the others.

[sblock=actions]
Edit: Minor? Retrieve the rope. (or would this be a move?)
Move to E 19
Athletics check = 27. to get rid of the mangrove, at least part of it.

I don't know how big it is mangrove it. Alnar has 15 str if that matters.[/sblock]

Alnar handily dispatches the tree blocking the passage by the rapids. Your movement past the rapids is now unimpeded.

[sblock=Luinnar]I'd prefer any application of brute force to be a strength check, but since it's a crit I'll give it to you anyway. The tree is cleared.[/sblock]

Ferris, impressed with Alnar's trailblazing abilities, follows him up to the top of the falls.

From there he takes a long look around, trying to sense what it is about this area that gives him goosebumps.

Perception=22

Ferris and Jezebel make it to the top of the small waterfall, following Alnar. Wondering why he has an ominous feeling about the place, Ferris decides to do a bit of scouting. Striding forward past the stump of the tree Alnar has just removed, Ferris quickly finds himself in waist deep water. He peers around the small lake, in particular at the cave on the opposite side of the water. He doesn't see the eyes that were peering at him earlier, but a final shaft of sunset light does for a moment reveal what appears to be a fully intact suit of armor sitting amid some large bones just inside the cave. The shifter gets the disturbing impression that someone may be trapped inside that suit of armor!

Ferris is distracted though by the distinct impression that he is being watched. He surveys the lake and is surprised to see a set of large reptilian eyes staring at him from a short distance away. A huge crocodile, realizing that it has been spotted quickly dives below the surface of the water, it's spiny tail disappearing out of sight...

[sblock="Initiatives Please!"]Baddies Initiative (1d20+5=20, 1d20+3=5) = 20 overall

As before, I need an initiative check from each party member. Enemies will take all of their turns together, as will players. The side with the highest initiative check will take their turns first.

MetaVoid and Iron Sky, I need initiative checks from you as well.

The "Sir X610" token indicates the position where Ferris saw the suit of armor.[/sblock]

[sblock=lighting and terrain]Ambient light is dim, as it is currently early evening. Characters without low-light vision will take a -2 to attack rolls and to perception checks to find hidden crocs unless they use a light source of some kind.

Light blue water is difficult terrain, as is any square partially-occupied by vegetation. Squares wholly-occupied by vegetation are impassible. The dark blue river water has a constant effect of push 1 downstream (SE), and movement through it necessitates a swim check (PHB pg. 183) versus DC15.[/sblock]
