I am going to say two things:

1) I have no problem with this thread, as long as it sticks to topic.

2) Play nice, please. Everyone knows the policy, so no personal insults or porn links or flaming each other or baiting one another or political content or religious content or use of double negatives or picture of naked cattle. So, in short, no fun of any kind. Can't have it, people! Nip-it! nip-it! nip-it-in-the-bud!

Myth-mon -- I see you're in the Bay Area. The store you're referring to isn't by any chance up in SF with a name that lends itself to Beach Boys lyrics? That's pretty much the only porn place I'd ever feel I could take my wife to.

I think that my local gaming store knows that I'm still a bit closeted about my RPG activities. They pretty much just politely ignore me, let me browse as I like, and ring me up with a polite "how ya doin". Definitely not an unwelcoming environment, but I still feel a slight sense of embarrassed shame when I walk into a gaming store -- not unlike the feeling I get walking into an adult bookstore.

Completely anecdotal and utterly nonstatistical,

Yep Seaver, the Olde Un is definitely an "interesting" place. The new game store opened in 2001 I think- its Valhalla's Gate. Its on the of best run, and nicest gaming stores I have ever visited. They have a website at:
