Well my wife gets me stuff at Galactic Games here in New Orleans all the time when she is getting off work. She works closer. She has never had any problems with men doing anything but boring her to death.

She once went there asking if they had any female gnome monks for a mini for me. The guy said that they did not have one, but they can order it. I told her that if they did not have one that I could settle for an unarmed female gnome. So she asked for that. Well she got about a 10 min story about how to convert mini's. It was a story about the owners viking campeign needed all the right sheilds and clothing for male/female. My wife was too nice and sat through the long story and ended up just getting me a gnome in a robe. So the moral of the story is . . . never ask hobby shop owners about their viking campeign.

My favorite all-time game store is the Days of Knights in Newark, DE. It was run by gamers, male and female and set up a gaming club. When they moved to a larger store they kept the original, small location as THE gaming club HQ. It was great and had a strong mixture of male and female and a diverse gaming population as might be expected in a college town.

I grew up on DoK. I remember when they opened up. I don't know if they still do but they used to celebrate Bilbo's Birthday party.

Porn and gaming stores

Gameing benefits over porn: My character looks good in leather, when I slay my enemies I dont get accused of making snuff films, I dont have to pay to see chicks in chain mail bikinis.

Porn benefits over gameing: No exotic weapon feat to use a wip, Girls dont cringe when you say your into roleplaying.

Similarities: Both stores smell of body odor from the unwashed patrons that inhabit them.
Brown paper bag syndrome.
People driving past the store look at you funny as your leaving.

I believe you. I'm just surprised there isn't a one-stop laundromat and tattoo parlor right alongside...or is there ?
