Pics of a few of my mini's (2/20/03)

First Post
I finally got the digital camera and tripod out to take a pic of a few of my mini's. Unfortunately, the battery was low so I did not get too many.

Here is my latest, but not best mini. I started painting this ogre before Thanksgiving and because of the holidays I did not paint much, by the time I came back to him I forgot which colors I used and mixed.

This was my second attempt at NMM (non metal metalics and I must say, I am very happy with my improvements.

Here is a barbarian fig. I painted this in a class and really learned a lot about painting figs. I can't wait to take another one. I did not do the NMM on the front of the Axe. None of my pics of this fig really worked out because my tripod was too tall to catch the face. I will have to find a different surface to shoot on to fix that.

One of the great things about the digital camera is they pic up and magnify many details the eye missed. Looking at this pic, I realize I should have highlighted the hair at least one more shade.

This was IMO my first success in painting mini's. After many poor quality mini's (to follow later) everything just worked out on this fig.

Another pic of the same fig. This was still before I learned about thinning paints and not painting from the paint lid. Old CD's make great pallets.

Looking good and I like the choice of backgrounds that you used. Can I ask that you name the figures manufacturer and details? I always wonder who makes which figures when I see them unlabeled and it drives me batty trying to place where I may have seen them. :D

Regarding the battery, once you gain a bit of comfort with the camera, perhaps you can conserve the juice by turning off the display wnindow between shots. I do this religiously and never have too many times when the batteries are even close to threatening my pic snapping sessions. :)

I don't know the names of the figs, but the ogre is a chainmail, I think he is a ranger. The second figure is a Confrontation. The Confrontation pack came with two figs, one a cool looking fighter with normal proportions and then this raging fig after his god gave hime some power or some such. The third fig is a Reaper fig.

Ya know, I maybe should have guessed by the bases, eh? :)

What plans do you have for the Confrontation Fighter figure?
