Location: The Inner Vault
Encounter: StoneFaces & Simulacra

While Udit eyed the little niche on the wall across the rift from him, bones began to grow out of the tall stage-like structure on the west side of the room. A Dracolich, or at least a simulacrum of one, formed on the stage and roared.

Outside in the Audience chamber, a similar thing occurred from under the treasure pile. A second simulacrum appeared, startling the Alchemist to his core. The creature immediately cast some sort of telekinesis spell, and the Unseen Murderer Idol floated out of its niche and flew over to the Dracolich. The eyeball door slammed shut, separating the main force from Drako, Torbin, Mord, and Kurzon, who immediately rushed the dragon skeleton and began to slam away at it, as he had done before.

Begin Round Two

GM: Okay, that gets rid of PCs who are missing players for awhile.

OOC: I left out the attacks of a couple of StoneFaces for that round, as I was expecting more PCs. This round will be a "full" round, though. Oh! And if you are one of my "missing" players, we'll figure out how to work you in when (and if) you get back, just let me know.

With his new gauntlets of ogre power, Terrus could easily support Lorenn's relatively light body as he flew down into the rift.

OOC: It'll take a little while to reach the bottom. It's a few hundred feet. I have a map, but I've been having trouble posting them.
OOC: A map of the bottom of the rift?

Auraia tosses the idol towards the far niche, and Pyrus catches it with his mind, moving it into the spot on the wall. Auraia then throws her new sword in the air, speaking its command word. It comes to life, soaring at the Dracolich, slicing him.

(Pyrus uses 2psi points to move the idol.)

As Terrus and Lorenn descended into the darkness of the rift, the chamber below expanded into a hollowed-out Lair. An enormous dragon skeleton lay wrapped around a large black obelisk, sitting atop a vast pile of coins, gems, jewels, and other metal valuables which occasionally caught some small amount of flashing light from above.

The air grew thick with a terrible cloying stench and became harder to breathe the lower they went.

GM: It's three hundred feet down, all told, so even if you went as far as you could last round, and double-move down this round, you're still pretty high up. What's Terrus's fly speed?

Auraia & Pyrus

Auraia tossed the Murder By Another's Hand Idol across the rift and Pyrus caught it with his mind, directing it to sit in the niche directly across the rift. For a moment, it sat nicely in the niche and then suddenly it was expelled; scattering across the floor, it settled just before sliding over the edge into the rift.

Bhaalite Ward

Pyrus knew that he had made a mistake. The Bhaal worshipers who had built this place had made it purposefully vague, in order to trap anyone who tried to enter their Inner Vault without understanding the nature of their wards. Instead of disarming one of the four wards, he had activated one. It invaded his mind, trying to turn him against his allies.

OOC: Pyrus must make a dc16 Wisdom Save or attack his allies next turn.

Simulacrum1

Auraia's sword scratched along the bone of the newly-formed Dracolich simulacrum. It swatted absently at the sword and then lowered its large head, opened its toothy jaw, and spew a cloud of greenish gas across the rift, which billowed against the now-closed double doors, catching many of the Infiltrators in its mists.

OOC: Sorry about this, but the spit's gotta start getting real, after all.

GM: Damage: (PCs) Aquaria, Auraia, Pyrus, Udit, & Sesto: 41 poison
(20 poison if you make a dc14 Constitution Save)

Rolls:Breath: 12D6 = [6, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1, 2, 4, 6, 2, 6, 4] = 41

(Yes, but as per Xanethars Guide, Page 77, if you fall from a great height, you instantly descend 500 feet. If you’re still falling on the next round, you descend another 500 ft. So he should be at the bottom by round 2, then spreads his wings and breaks the fall. Also, Terrus will use a bonus Action to change his focus to Adaptive Body, which lets him not need to breath.)
