D&D 4E Are powers samey?

Well I have been tweaking the fighter to enable its subclasses to be not all tough striker tiny bits of something else A recent idea adds an ability of the base fighter class to engage in a morning exercise where the expend their action surge to add a CS die (or actually a number of them equal to the attacks you could do in the surge) and associated maneuver could increase the access to maneuvers. The champion NOT interested in maneuvers saves his Action Surge and the PDK or the Battlemaster or the Cavalier then can more easily pull in maneuvers that interact with their rather obvious roles.
Some things can also be in the subclass for instance if we want the EK to be able to be more Mage we can give him an ability like the Bloodmage from 4e sacrifice hit points of his own into spell slots. Or simply increasing the effective slot level of a spell I am not sure how the balancing works for that but it seems quite doable @Maxperson

It's more like a summoning a moving trap.
how is a minion operating to attack your enemies not a moving trap (or is that wha you are saying) not sure not exactly but... ok the minion could definitely provide more utility and the swarm of soldiers can provide a naughty word load. In fact the effect of the very versatile Martial Troops ... are very like multiple rituals.

Could you provide better examples of what you mean?

Not true. There are powers that have a longer duration. Goodberry and Cloud Chariot for example.

What I mean is it is closer to making a magic weapon or trap. You can only "attack" targets with rituals unless they are intelligent, willing, unaware, or helpless. A summoned army is like a summoned weapon or conjured trap. A ritual that conjures something that is later brought to the fight.

I do want to know effects from 5e that are not currently accessible in 4e because what the hey I can certainly introduce a skill power and/or practices (preworked) to enable forms of instant party escapes at high level then teleport escape can be done too for example.

a fireball err pillar of elemental flame gateway you cast ritually put a circle around it to blow up the building in a pillar of fire.... its also a gateway to the elemental flame till the fire goes out of course.

Like I say.
Buildings are inanimate. Goblins would stab you if you don't KO him first.

Rituals are mostly out of combat actions. You would typically need bodyguards to do it in combat.

This isnt the original but rather one patterned after the one I mentioned (I might have over complicated it a bit but I am adding a Martial Controller Warlord and this seems a good place for a boost)

Swarm and minions summoning are still more utility than offense. It's more like a summoning a moving trap.

Powers still only have a duration of an encounter or five minutes.
I’m almost certain there are classes with daily powers that last longer than that, and like with other complaints, at worst that is only true of powers. Rituals exist.
