Amazon numbers are volatile because of the after Christmas sales, but this is the first time I've seen this in Amazon sales rank. First the PHB 5e is in the 50's, again, again. Second the COC 7th core book has been in the 20thousands for a while but now it's at 7,828 third is Pathfinder 2e at 9,596, it has been hovering around 13,000 for the last few weeks.

Granted, these two will probably flip flop a few times and probably settle back to where they were pre Christmas. Still I wanted to note it, I think it's news and important. CoC is growing.

Note these are sales rankings out of ALL books sold on Amazon USA.

CoC was ahead of PF2 as of 12-7-2020 as well - I noted it on another forum where I was discussing PF2.

A little more variety on the top is a good thing.

I’m guessing it’s benefited from Lovecraft Country.

Nothing wrong with that. Good on them.

D&D 5e has certainly benefitted from pop culture references it did not initiate.

Do you have what the rankings were?

I went into Books: Science Fiction & Fantasy: Gaming and checked--all the top 10 are D&D books (top 5: Tasha's, PHB, DMG, MM, Xanathar's), except for what appears to be a wuxia/litRPG novel in the "Silver Fox & the Western Hero" series.

Amazon has very specific categories, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were looking in a different place...

Looking at different RPGs. All the D&D books count as D&D books. Look at the rankings for ALL books and the second highest core book AFTER any D&D book was COC.

I keep looking for different RPG books and they're in the category 'Fantasy Gaming', when I look at bestsellers for that category I get what I described.

Is it possible Amazon actually tweaks their bestseller list per person? I logged out of Amazon, tried again, and got the same result.
