As for me, I think it looks pretty good. Finished version needs some gems in the crown. :)

Only problem I really have, is that I think it is too wide for its height. I don't think it would fit well where we want it. Can you do soething to give it more heighth or less width?

Okay.. time to start over then.. I based that on the description you gave.. but I can alter the angles and start anew.

I like it. I think my character will have to get a mace like that. :)

Well on occasion sceptres were used as maces, but they were mostly ornamental in nature.

Thanks Clay:)

Half awake Horacio posting...

Shawn, I like the drawing. I like it a lot.
Some details: The proportions seem a bit too wide-not tall enough for side art. And the sword hilt is great but the hilt's guard too small, IMO.

ugh sorry. You know where we want to put it, don't you think it needs to be thinner? or the whole thing could be just smaller and have several of them on it.

Well to keep the scale the sword hilt is modeled off of a Roman Gladius, small curved pummel for thrusting, as is the blade.. once again ornamental. I didn't want to draw a claymore next to a sceptre.

Starting over is not a big issue, that's only a fifteen minute sketch and I knew it may not work.
