D&D General MtG Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Spoiler Thread

Mordenkainen spells shoe up in the Forgotten Realms, part of the whole multiverse thing: in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Mordenkainen is in the Set as a Planeswalker.
They show up, because since 1e certain specific named spells have existed and travelled to other worlds. Had it been Mordenkainen's Mansion or something, I wouldn't have an issue with it. However, if you're creating an entirely new named spell for the Forgotten Realms set...

There are 5 Planeswalkers in the set. Lolth (Black), Zariel (Red), Ellywick (Green), almost certainly Bahumut (White), and a Blue Planeswalker, who is going to be Elminister, where do you see Mordenkainen Planeswalker fitting in?

What's the evidence of Eliminster? Mordenkainen has a name checked card in the Set in Blue, and a flavor text quote. Similar to what we see with Wish. Expect Mordenkainen.

They may not be limiting the set strictly to Forgotten Realms characters, but it is a Forgotten Realms set. Elminster is the face of the Realms. They aren't going to leave him out any more than they were going to leave out Drizzt.

And while their definition of D&D "planeswalkers" is obviously fairly loose, Elminster is a promiscuous plane-traveler (in every sense of the word). It would be extremely weird to make Mordenkainen a PW and Elminster not.

When it comes to the Forgotten Realms, the spellcaster most well known for planeswalking is The Simbul.
